Not the Banana Split You Know: Ben & Jerry's Part of Unilever's Ice Cream Unit SeparationUnilever's decision to split off its ice cream unit, including renowned brands such as Ben & Jerry’s, marks a significant shift for the consumer goods giant. While this move is expected to streamline operations and drive cost savings, its implications for consumers and investors are worth considering.Impact on Consumers:Brand Autonomy: With Ben & Jerry’s becoming a standalone entity, consumers may see greater brand autonomy, potentially leading to more focused product offerings and marketing strategies.Social Responsibility: Ben & Jerry’s has been vocal about social and political issues, prompting both praise and criticism. The brand's independent status could allow it to continue advocating for causes without the constraints of corporate oversight.Impact on Unilever Stock:Initial Surge: Unilever shares surged following the announcement, reflecting investor optimism about the potential for value creation and improved performance post-restructuring.Long-Term Outlook: However, some analysts question the long-term impact on Unilever's growth trajectory. The ice cream division, while profitable, has shown slower growth compared to other segments, raising concerns about the overall impact on shareholder value. As Unilever navigates this transition, it will be essential for the company to address consumer expectations and investor sentiment effectively. How do you think this move will shape the future of Unilever and its brands? Let's discuss! #Unilever #IceCream #Restructuring #BenAndJerrys #Investing #ConsumerGoods #CorporateStrategy

Unilever announced full-year results last week. Globally, the business reported 7.0% underlying sales growth with improved profit margin and a return to volume growth. In North America, Unilever announced 5.8% underlying sales growth for the full year with an encouraging 2.5% volume growth, which includes exceptional performances by our Prestige and Health & Wellbeing global business units. Across the business, we faced challenges on market-share competitiveness, and our teams are laser-focused on addressing this.I am very proud of all the ways our brands showed up in 2023, connecting with people in new ways to drive brand love and delivering superior products that meet their needs. Some of the year’s business highlights include:1. Dove had strong performance for the year and continues to drive positive impact through its work to redefine beauty.2. Hellmann’s returned to positive volume growth globally, while inspiring people to reduce food waste through its purposeful “Make Taste Not Waste” campaign.3. Knorr achieved €5 billion in turnover in 2023 globally and in North America the team has done amazing work reimagining this brand with campaigns like Taste Combos featuring Cardi B and the launch of new product innovations like ready-to-eat snack pots.4. We continued taking action to reshape our portfolio, including welcoming Yasso, Inc. to our ice cream business unit, which is a favorite among those looking for better-for-you treats! While we close the chapter on 2023, I am feeling motivated and focused as I start my new role as President of Unilever USA. We’re looking forward to what we can do together in 2024 as we work to increase competitiveness and deliver against our growth action plan.https://lnkd.in/eH59B35H

Magnum is MeltingUnilever Plc is planning to spin off its Ice cream which houses famous brands like Magnum and Ben & Jerry into a separate entity. As per the management, it is being done to create a focused business, but the reality is poles apart. It seems like Ice Cream business is not doing well and impacting the overall margins of the overall Unilever business. This exercise may lead to 7,500 job losses across the globe.Even the other business of Unilever is doing well due to rising inflation and adverse economic scenarios. To improve the overall company's margin, the management has put in place a target of saving $1 billion within the next three years. It shouldn't be a surprise for us as many UK-based companies are taking this route to sustain its profit.Let me know what you think.

Purely posting because I needed to see this - Cats on the internet, just what the internet was made for!Attention grabbing, fun, backed by celeb influence, a quick reminder to use Mayo, specifically Hellmann's, keeping them top of mind. The brand code application is subtly done too. What are brand codes? 💡Codes are distinctive brand assets, clear identifiers of the brand: - Logo- Shapes and patterns - Colours - Font- Packaging - Characters - Product cues- And sometimes celebrity associationThe presence and application of brand codes for this Unilever brand was there in playful ways; the #mayocat bow, the apron, the large signage, Pete's hoodie and merch at the end. The brands blue and yellow seen throughout, but at first I missed the brand colours because of the cute cat distraction! 👉🏻Also, I’m interested to know if you get the word, “mayo” stuck in your head today from this (in the exact tone of the cat), if you can remember how to spell the brand without looking....AND if like me you generally prefer Salad Cream - CONTROVERSIAL! #brandcodes #branding #advertisment #brandidentity #marketing

✨ Unilever: From Humble Beginnings to a Global Powerhouse. In the ever-evolving world of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), few companies have a story as remarkable as Unilever. Let's take a moment to reflect on how Unilever started and how it has grown to become a global leader in sustainability and innovation.🌟 Humble Beginnings: Unilever's journey began in the late 19th century when the Lever Brothers, William and James, started producing Sunlight Soap in the UK. At the same time, in the Netherlands, Margarine Unie was making strides in the margarine business. These two companies, united by a common goal of improving health and hygiene, merged in 1930 to form Unilever.🌍 Global Expansion: Over the decades, Unilever expanded its portfolio and geographic reach through strategic acquisitions and organic growth. Today, Unilever boasts over 400 brands in its portfolio, including household names like Dove, Knorr, Lipton, and Ben & Jerry's. Their products are available in over 190 countries, touching the lives of billions of consumers daily.💡Innovation and Sustainability: Unilever's commitment to sustainability is at the core of its business strategy. The Unilever Sustainable Living Plan, launched in 2010, aims to decouple growth from environmental impact while increasing positive social impact. They have made significant strides in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting sustainable agriculture, and enhancing the health and well-being of people worldwide.📊 Economic Impact: Unilever's economic footprint is vast. With a workforce of over 150,000 employees globally, the company plays a crucial role in job creation and economic development. Their innovative products and ethical business practices have consistently delivered strong financial performance, making Unilever one of the most respected names in the FMCG sector.🤝Social Responsibility: Unilever's social initiatives are equally impressive. From improving hygiene and sanitation through their Lifebuoy brand to empowering women entrepreneurs with their Shakti program in India, Unilever is committed to making a positive impact on society. As Unilever continues to lead the way in sustainable business practices, its journey from a small soap manufacturer to a global powerhouse serves as an inspiration to us all. Here's to celebrating Unilever's legacy and looking forward to its continued success and positive impact on the world.#Unilever #Sustainability #Innovation #FMCG #GlobalLeader #EconomicGrowth #SocialResponsibility #SustainableLiving .
